Sources
- Service territories: ADECA — Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) service areas — https://adeca.alabama.gov/CSBG/
- County geometry: U.S. Census Bureau TIGER/Line cartographic boundaries (via us-atlas 10m). All 67 counties use authentic published boundaries, not schematic shapes.
- Connected extract: CAANEAL 2026 Community Needs Assessment / 2025 community input (2026 assessment (2025 community input)) — County — 7-county CAANEAL service area.
- Connected extract: CACCTC 2026 Community Needs Assessment (2024 planning-context county table (report also contains 2025 estimate tables)) — County — Chambers, Tallapoosa, Coosa.
- Connected extract: CSPWAL 2025 Community Needs Assessment summary (2025 assessment (underlying indicators include 2022/2023 data)) — Region — 10-county CSPWAL service area (regional totals only). Impact: CSPWAL FY2025 Annual Report — energy assistance summary (FY2025).
How data is handled
- Mixed source years are never blended. Each connected extract keeps its own assessment year (CAANEAL 2026 with 2025 community input, CACCTC 2026 using a 2024 planning table, CSPWAL 2025 using 2022/2023 underlying indicators). Comparing counties across agencies means comparing across source years, which the UI labels rather than hides.
- Survey and listening-session results are community input. They record who spoke and what they prioritized. They are not necessarily statistically representative of the population, and vote counts are not prevalence rates.
- Regional values are never duplicated to counties. CSPWAL's connected assessment reports regional totals, so its counties show no choropleth value and the regional figures appear only on the Region 17 profile and territory panel.
- No statewide totals are invented. Any aggregation built from connected agencies only is labeled “Connected-source aggregation — not a statewide total.”
- Curated extracts, not live feeds. Connected CNA datasets are extracts curated from each agency's published assessment and refreshed when a new assessment is released; they are not a live query against an agency data system.
