Weatherization Fundamentals is the entry course for crew members, auditors and agency staff new to building science and the Weatherization Assistance Program.

What the course covers

  • House-as-a-system building science: heat, air and moisture flow
  • Blower-door and diagnostic basics
  • Insulation and air-sealing priorities in Alabama's climate
  • Combustion safety and worker health and safety
  • Programme documentation and quality expectations

Who should attend

New crew members and subcontractors, energy auditors preparing for certification, and programme managers who need to review work scopes with confidence.

After the course

Fundamentals feeds directly into certification pathways, including Quality Control Inspector preparation. Talk to CAAA about scheduling a session for your agency's crew.
